This recipe calls for 1 lb. fresh Yak but if you can't find it you can
substitute with 1 lb
of Emu meat.

Yak and Rice Surprise

1 lb Yak (any lean cut will work)
2 med onions
3/4 cup rice
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp Cumen
1 tsp oregino
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp hot pepper seed
2 Tbsp oil for cooking


In a skillet fry garlic minced in oil to flavor it. Then revove it so it
doesn't burn. Then put the Yak meat that has been cut into 1" cubes in
to brown, once browned add the remaining ingredients, add enough water
to cover and let that simmer for 2-2/1-2 hors depending on the toughness
of the Yak. Then when its done add the rice and allow that to absorb the
liquid (about 20 min) then serve hot with blue cornbread or corn chips.
